The
month of July 2004 was spent in Ireland - photographing and touring
from Galway and Westport on the west coast; Dublin on the east;
Kilkenny and finally to Kinsale on the south-west. For this
trip, I used a Canon digital SLR camera and left the view camera
equipment at home. I carried two Canon lenses - 24-85mm and the
75-300mm IS - along with several compact flash cards and a
lightweight Velbon tripod. I brought along my laptop computer and uploaded all
images nightly.
There
is a truly special light and feel to the landscapes; the colours in the
local storefronts, restaurants and pubs; the brown and grey in the stones,
ruins and ancient sites throughout the countryside and the smell of burning
peat in the air - lots to see, to photograph and to experience. Of course, having a superb
navigator to travel with makes it all the more enjoyable (thanks Suz!)
as you discover those special sights and views that are found well off the beaten track.
A selection of 15 images from the Ireland 2004 Portfolio was displayed in the foyer at the
Merrickville
Old Town Hall (MOTH)
Gallery in Merrickville ON. This exhibit ran from September through
November, 2004.

All of the Ireland portfolio images are available to purchase.
Each is digitally printed on Epson Enhanced Matte Paper using
Ultra-Chrome Inks. The price for an 11x14 inch print (approximate) on 13x19
inch paper is
$100.00.
I recommend that the prints be mounted
using acid-free materials, be displayed under glass and out of direct
sunlight. Prints are titled, signed and placed in a
mailing tube for
shipping - all included in the purchase price.
Contact me
by email if you would like
more purchase information.

2009 or 2010, please contact me.
Arrangements are being considered for a 7 day photographic tour based
near
Westport, Co.
Mayo. A
group of six to nine individuals is required to make this happen - all camera
formats are welcome.
